What is SMTP?

SMTP stands for Simple Mail Transfer Protocol. It’s a standard for sending electronic messages over the internet between servers. SMTP is a delivery protocol only, it does not pull messages from a remote server. For receiving messages, you’ll need to utilize either a POP3 or IMAP client.
